Eric Mack is Professor of Philosophy at Tulane University and on the Faculty at the Murphy Institute. He is the editor of Herbet Spencer’s Man Versus the State and Auberon Herbert’s Right and Wrong of Compulsion by the State and other Essays. His most recent publications include “Libertarianism and Classical Liberalism: The Liberty Tradition” (with Gerald Gaus), forthcoming in Handbook of Political Theory; “Prerogatives, Restrictions, and Rights,” forthcoming in Social Philosophy and Policy; and “The State of Nature Has a Law of Nature to Govern It,” in Individual Rights Reconsidered.
